Katie & Brendan : Falkner Winery, Temecula, CA

We met Katie and Brendan through Falkner Winery in Temecula, CA. When we set up an appointment to meet with them, we had no idea they would be connected with so many people we know. As Katie was reviewing some of our albums she noticed people she recognized. It was a pleasant surprise. Since then, we've grown to become friends with Katie and Brendan and have really enjoyed getting to know them and their families. We met in Laguna for their engagement session and had a blast capturing their personalities throughout the afternoon.

After Katie and Brendan's engagement shoot, we were so excited about their wedding. They were so comfortable in front of the camera. As their day approached, we met up with them and their families at the rehearsal to prepare for their big day. Unfortunately, Brendan showed up and had a pretty nasty cold. He revealed a huge part of his character by putting that aside and not allowing it to jeopardize all he and Katie had in store for their wedding day. Below are some of the getting ready shots and details.

The limo Brendan, his groomsmen and his parents were taking to the winery overheated and left them waiting for either the limo to cool down or another to arrive. Normally, this would just be a little bump in the road, but this happened to be the hottest day of the year in Temecula. Again, the character and love Katie and Brendan shared together dictated the course of the whole day. In my opinion, they were models on what it means to allow your day to take its course and enjoy every minute of it. You can't always prepare for every moment, but you can plan to enjoy every moment. Their ceremony was beautiful. When you see Brendan's face when his bride comes down the aisle, you can tell there is not a worry or concern on his mind.

As soon as the ceremony was done, we headed over to finish up their formal portraits. Falkner is set up so efficiently in their timing that we had a good amount of time to capture Katie and Brendan with their wedding party. You can truly see how loving, caring and outwardly focused these two are by the size of their wedding party. Being selfless is a beautiful attribute to have as a part of your character. After the shots with the whole group, Brendan was ready to spend some one on one time with his wife. The sunset cooperated quite nicely as well.

Once the reception kicked off, everyone was ready to let loose and enjoy some good old fun. It was a blast to watch all of their family and friends celebrate their union as husband and wife. One of the many moments that we loved from the reception was when Brendan pulled out a football, wrapped the garter around it and passed it into the group of single guys. It had to be one of the more unique and personality appropriate garter tosses we've seen.

One of our favorite things about our "job" is having the privilege of meeting couples like Katie and Brendan. These two, without even knowing it, have added to our marriage. It's been so much fun working with Katie and Brendan. Experiencing the joy surrounding them on their wedding day and getting to know their families are things that have added to our life and our passion. Katie, Brendan and both of your families, thank you for everything.
