Ben & Melia: Newport Dunes

We had the privilege of meeting Ben and Melia through Ben's parents. They are good friends of ours who attended the same church we did in Orange County. Sharing in such an amazing occasion for both Ben and Melia's families was such a joy. Ben and Melia have a beautiful harmony together. They are yin and yang. Their differences compliment each other and their similarities support one another. It's a beautiful harmony. They exemplify this harmony every day as they run their clothing boutique named "Melia" together. We ran around San Diego with them as we captured the intensity and joy in their relationship and spent some time getting to know them more.

Ben and Melia knew exactly what they wanted when it came to their wedding day. They were ready to start a new life together as husband and wife. The whole day pointed towards their selfless love for others and their excitement to share in life together. The excitement flowing through the day from both sides was infectious.

Ben and Melia's wedding represented their love for beautiful simplicity. Melia's simply elegant dress and a gorgeous pair of earrings from William Harold Jewelers really brought out Melia's natural beauty. The icing on the cake was the gorgeous afternoon and evening providing us with some incredible weather and gorgeous natural light for their portraits. The surroundings were a perfect compliment to how incredible Ben and Melia looked.

The sweet and intimate ceremony demonstrated Ben and Melia's love for Jesus and each other. The intensity they both share for life, each other and their dreams is so contagious. They are inspiring to be around and remind you that, more times tha not, love is enough. The ceremony and recpetion were held at Newport Dunes. Adina of Fleur de Lis Events brought their vision to life with the decor and open air tent for the reception.

Newport Dunes offered a great separation for the wedding party and the guests so we could have some fun and really fly through the portraits. The whole group really got into the excitement of Ben and Melia's love for each other. You'll see one picture where Ben's sister is off to the right while the other girls hang on Ben...it was perfect! After the group shots, Ben and Melia worked the camera and shared in some sweet moments together. It was an honor to be there to capture their love together.

Once Ben and Melia entered the beautiful open air tent, the night was unstoppable. There was so much fun and love in the air. The weather was perfect, the guests were fired up and the night was filled with energizing music from OFFWHITE, the band Kai Kalama and his brother Ryan began.

In a perfect twist to the traditional bouqet and garter toss, Ben and Melia joined forces and through them at the same time. It was so funny to watch both sides try and catch the flying bouquet and garter. It always cracks us up how people dive for them and it was even more intense watching both sides do it together!

Ben and Melia, congratulations on your life together. We are so thankful for everything you and your families have been in our life and the encouragement we receive through your friendships. We value the statement you make as a couple. And from one couple to another who chooses to work with their spouse...keep on keepin' on! Isn't it an incredible gift? We love you.
